Attention filmmakers! Submissions are now being accepted for the 11th Annual New York Latino International Film, the premier Urban Latino film event in the country. NYLIFF's mission is to provide a platform for emerging Latino filmmaking talent in the U.S. and Latin America to showcase their works and to celebrate the diversity and spirit of the Latino community.

SO'OKU SEN AT CHRISTIES
NY Zuienkai Tea school is pleased to announce that So'oku Sen, 15th generation Grand Master of the Mushakouji Senke Tea School, will be visiting New York during Asia Week to give a special Contemporary Tea Practice demonstration at Christie's.
Mr. Sen So'oku will give a lecture and demonstration on contemporary tea practices using his newly invented tea table and chairs called Ten'yujoku.
This event is open to the public, but please RSVP soon as space is limited.

ASAKUSA JINTA UK TOUR BOOK + DVD Release
OK. So our favorite Asianican Hard Marching Band playing Rockabilly, uptempo country, punk, Japanese Eenka, Kayokyoku, went on tour last fall through the UK. They put together a diary and DVD documenting the epic tour. It's filled with exclusive photos by the band and the box cover is illustrated by mikeachint. Get it. |

YU-ICHI INOUE I-SUMI EXHIBITION
The extraordinary work of legendary I-Sumi artist, Yu-ichi Inoue (1916-1986) will be exhibited March 9-11 at Sumida Riverside Hall in Tokyo.
Also, the work of Usami Shutokudo will be featured as well and will showcase a new, dynamic style of hanging scrollwork art. |
